Very nice looking rifle and a good early serial number too. You probably have it already in your database.Ĭan you point me to good sites to learn about these rifles, especially USMC provenance? Also, if there is a PDF if the manual (or even better a purchasable copy) I'd like to find it. I just purchased Harrington Model 65 Serial Number 1568 from mnhusker. The second picture is the US MODEL MC-58 type marking.įor comparison the third picture shows the WWII era MOD 65 markings. The first picture is of the USMC PROPERTY type marking. Both types are different from the earlier WWII era H&R MOD 65 trainers. I have some documentation of civilian sales during late WWII, but would like to have additional data points and serial numbers.Īnother area is the serial numbers for the two different types of markings on the MC-58 rifles. One area is to better establish the MOD 65 serial number range where the transition from military production to civilian sales took place. There are two specific areas where additional data would be helpful. If any of you have MOD 65's or MC-58's, I would appreciate any data you could provide. That thread has more pictures posted if anyone is interested: There is a thread that I started on the Gunboards forum years ago that has turned up a lot of serial numbers. I've been recording data on the H&R MOD 65 and MC-58 USMC Trainers for about the last 15 years, but would still like to add data to better establish the serial number ranges for production features.
